Give Hope to a Child Today!Stop Children’s Cancer was founded in 1981, by a 10- year old girl, named Bonnie, diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia or ALL. Her vision was to raise research money to help other children and their families, so they would have a better future. Bonnie passed away in 1983 at the age of 12. Her vision continues. Beginning in 1985, from the donations raised the Board of Directors started funding researchers, equipment, and projects at UF Health. Many of these grants allowed researchers to receive funding from the National Institute of Health (NIH). As a result of these donations to these research projects, an excess of well over $20 million in grants was awarded to UF Health by the NIH. To date, Stop Children’s Cancer, a 501(C)(3), has raised over $10 million dollars. In 2008, Stop Children’s Cancer Medical Advisory Board suggested changing direction by supporting Clinical Trials. Stop Children's Cancer has been focusing on funding for Clinical Trials ever since. Facts:
